"Dreamscape" Original Insert. A psychic, (Dennis Quaid) who's able to project himself into people's dreams, is recruited by a Government agency to stop an assassination attempt against the President of the United States. "Buck Rogers" (in the 25th Century) Original Style B One Sheet. The feature film that's actually the pilot to the hit TV series. In the year 1984, astronaut Captain William "Buck" Rogers is frozen when his life support fails and he is sent into a vast, slowly deteriorating orbit around Earth. By the time he reaches Earth, it's the year 2491. The Earth has changed drastically. When he lands, he meets the beautiful Colonel Wilma Deering (Erin Grey) and the robot Twiki (voiced by Mel Blanc.) Another highlight is Pamela Hensley as Princess Ardala. 1979. Trailer here.

"Aliens" Japanese Movie Program. (Part 2 of 2) One of my all time favorite movies. James Cameron's 1986 sequel to Ridley Scott's 1979 film, "Alien." After being awakened from cold sleep, Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is brought in as an adviser when contact is lost with a colony on the planet LV-426. Sadly, men women and children are feared lost. She, and an elite squad of Colonial Marines are sent in to search for survivors. Here's the trailer.

"Critters 3" Original Video Poster. "You are what they eat!" As much as I like the more or less continuing saga that is "Critters," this movie is just awful. The Critters hitch a ride on a camper and end up in a poor neighborhood tenement apartment building. Why is the third sequel always the worst? *AHEM* "Spiderman 3 - The Musical." Anyway, this is Leonardo DiCaprio's film debut, and I can't decide if that's good or bad. I've always wondered what an actor would say if you ran up to them and said "Leonardo DiCaprio? Hey, you were in Critters 3! Can I have your autograph?!" Ha ha. But, back to the poster: I love the art. If you look closely, you can see it's a really well-done painting. Sort of like Critters Do NY. Here's the trailer. From 1991.

"Terence Young's Amazons" aka "War Goddess" Original Movie Program. "Women Warriors as Sensuous as they are Savage. Women Rulers as Passionate as they are Powerful." The 1975 film about a tribe of wild Amazons. Every 4 years, a new Queen is chosen for the Amazons through intense competition and battle, including wrestling, javelin throwing, climbing challenges and horse racing (while whipping other contestants.) In order to compete, each woman must bring the head of a man. The Amazon women enjoy a fine existence, except for once a year when they must breed with men to further their race.
Director Terence Young and colleagues reviewed 14,000 photographs and conducted "Miss Amazon" contests in Trieste, Paris, Hamburg, Munich, Rome and Nice to come up with the 100 women who are the "Amazons." They then endured a six-week training regimen that included riding, calisthenics and running from early in the morning until lights out. They did mostly their own stunts too; several girls had broken legs and one lost a finger under a chariot wheel! They explain the need for oil when wrestling as necessary protection of "holy oil." Silly.
It was filmed in Spain. The original is 105 minutes, but the U.S. release (War Goddess) is a cut up 89 minutes. There is a Japanese DVD that has English language that clocks in at 103 minutes. Here's the trailer. Contains nudity. From 1973.

"So Fine" Original Insert. "A revealing comedy." When his father develops money problems, a man comes up with an idea that turns into an unexpected overnight fashion success - women's bluejeans with vinyl windows, exposing the butt cheeks. Ha ha. Okay, just so you know, I didn't buy this poster. It came in a lot of ten when I bought my "Scanners" insert. Here's a fake commercial for the jeans. Unbelievable. From 1981.

"Flash Gordon" Original Thai Vertical Poster. Based upon the 1934 comic strip. "Flash!... He'll save every one of us!" When strange energy waves pull the moon out of orbit, threatening destruction of the Earth, Dr. Hans Sarkov makes a desperate rocket flight with two unwilling passengers: Flash Gordon (Sam J. Jones,) quarterback of the New York Jets and Dale Arden (Melody Anderson.) Their destination is the planet Mongo, source of the strange energy waves. Also starring the gorgeous Ornella Muti as Princess Aura and Timothy Dalton as Prince Barin. Featuring a repetitive soundtrack by Queen. Believe it or not, I got this poster plus the horizontal one below for a penny. That's the coolest thing I've ever bought for 1 cent. Anyway, here's the trailer. 1980.

"Incubus" Original One Sheet. "It is real. It is alive. It is among us." An incubus, a sexual demon that preys on women, is stalking the town of Galen. The film also features the band Samson. (Bruce Dickinson's band from before Iron Maiden.) I've never seen the movie but have always liked this version of the One Sheet poster. I believe it's Drew Struzan art. Here's the trailer. "The Deep" Original Insert. "Is the treasure worth the terror?" Based upon the book by Peter Benchley, "The Deep" tells the story of a pair of young vacationers in Bermuda, who come up against a dangerous bunch of treasure hunters when they discover a way in to a recently sunken ship. "Big Doll House" Original Half Sheet. Aka "Bamboo Dolls House," aka "Womens Penitentiary III." "Soft young girls behind hard prison bars." Five women who are being tortured in a Philippine prison plot an escape with the help of two men from the outside. The film was made for a measly $125 grand, and has grossed over $10 million. This poster is the International version. (U.S. versions and International versions often have different art.) Mine was originally displayed in Amsterdam. Here's the trailer.
