"Luana" Original Half Sheet. aka "Luana - the Girl Tarzan," aka "Luana - Jungle Girl." "As savage as the beasts that raised her!" Mei Chen is Luana, a girl who was lost in the jungle when her father's plane went down. Typical jungle girl flick with monkey high jinks and blow-gun toting natives. Frank Frazetta art. From 1973. "Heavy Metal" Original Half Sheet. "A shadow shall fall over the universe, and evil will grow in its path... and death will come from the skies." An animated sci-fi anthology based upon stories from Heavy Metal magazine that are tied together with a story about a flying orb containing the essence of evil, called the Loch-nar. Actors contributing their voice talent include John Candy, Harold Ramis and Eugene Levy. Interestingly, Elmer Bernstein's theme for Taarna was actually written for the character of Alex in "Saturn 3" (1980). The theme was never heard in the film, so Bernstein used it for this film. "Big Doll House" Original Half Sheet. Aka "Bamboo Dolls House," aka "Womens Penitentiary III." "Soft young girls behind hard prison bars." Five women who are being tortured in a Philippine prison plot an escape with the help of two men from the outside. The film was made for a measly $125 grand, and has grossed over $10 million. This poster is the International version. (U.S. versions and International versions often have different art.) Mine was originally displayed in Amsterdam. Here's the trailer. "Queen of Blood" Original Half Sheet. I like this movie. "A Deathless Witch who Devours Men!" "Hideous Beyond Belief!" In the distant future (the year 1990,) a radio transmission notifies earth of an imminent visit by aliens. When a ship crash lands on Phobos, we mount a rescue and find one female survivor. She's green and has a beehive hairdo! However, as the body count begins to stack up on the Earth ship, the crew realizes she lives entirely on blood. Watch for a very young Dennis Hopper as a crew member. As far as I know it's never been released on DVD. I recorded it from AMC back when it was good and commercial-free. From 1966. Trailer here. "The Perils of Pauline" Original Half Sheet. A young Pauline (Pamela Austin) is left on the doorstep of the Baskerville Foundling Home, and is taken in and raised. George Steadman (Pat Boone), a boy roughly her own age, falls in love with her and foils all attempts to have her adopted out. Kicked out, he goes in search of his fortune so that he can return and earn Pauline's hand in marriage. Pauline then gets a job tutoring a young prince in the Middle East, only for the prince to decide he wants her in his harem. Fleeing, she goes from peril to peril where she is sold to pygmies in Darkest Africa, is rescued by an old millionaire who wants to freeze her so that his one year-old grandson can marry her in 25 years time and later becomes a movie star and goes into space as a Russian cosmonaut. While all the time she is pursued by mad, big game hunter, Sten Martin (Terry Thomas). Well, you get the picture. This movie is actually a TV pilot that was never picked up. I'd love to see it. 1967.

"Africa: Texas Style" Original Half Sheet. Pilot movie for the short-lived series "Cowboy in Africa." Two Texas cowboys are hired by an African wildlife caregiver to corral big game as part of a wildlife saving effort, but they're hampered in their efforts by poachers and a bad guy big game hunter. Beautiful art on this poster. I wish I knew who the painter was. 1967.

"Women of the Prehistoric Planet" Original Half Sheet. The VHS box proclaims "The Most Spectacular and Exciting Science Fiction Film Ever Released on April 15, 1966!" Ha ha. A spaceship crashes on a sparsely populated planet. When rescuers arrive, they find decades have passed, and only the crew's descendants still alive. Often confused with "Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women" for obvious reasons. 1966.

"Some Girls Do" Original Half Sheet. This is the 1969 sequel to "Deadlier Than the Male." Richard Johnson reprises his role as Hugh Drummond. This time, he's investigating a series of accidents that befall the people and companies responsible for developing the world's first supersonic airliner. The project is being sabotaged by an evil mastermind who has a group of female androids at his disposal. (Actually beautiful women with robot brains.) This movie is currently unavailable in the States, but if you have a region free DVD player or live in the U.K. there's a really nice set of both movies. Here's the trailer.

"Rampage" Original Half Sheet. Beautiful art on this poster. World-renowned big game hunter Harry Stanton (Robert Mitchum) is commissioned by a German zoo to capture a very rare half tiger/ half leopard. Along for the ride are Otto Abbott (Jack Hawkins) and his seductive young mistress Anna (Elsa Martinelli). This movie is now available from the very expensive Warner Brothers Archive Collection on DVD-R. Although I'd like to see it, I'm not prepared to pay that much for a non-pressed DVD unless it's something I really want to see.

"Operation Kid Brother" aka "OK Connery" half sheet. Pretty cool cheesy James Bond rip off. Unfortunately, the only version I could find was the MST3K. Neil Connery actually IS the kid brother of Sean Connery. Supposedly, Sean Connery was pretty pissed about the fact that they took advantage of Neil and talked him into this movie just because of the popularity of his brother's name. Some original Bond girls and villains are in it too. Put this out on DVD! Here's the trailer. From 1967.

"Jack of Diamonds." Great half-sheet with art by Robert McGinnis. "From the rooftops of Paris to the penthouses of New York... he takes only the best jewels and the most beautiful women!" I'd love to see the movie but it's never been released on home video. Anyway, here's the trailer. 1968.

Halfsheet for "Duel in the Jungle." Shot on location in Rhodesia, an American insurance investigator looks into the strange death of a diamond broker who drowned while diving for diamonds off the African coast. I've never seen the movie since it's not available. 1954.

"Policewomen" Original Half Sheet. "Before James Bond ... There Was Lacy Bond." Pretty cool art on an original half-sheet. The movie's a lot of fun too. A lady cop infiltrates an all-female criminal gang. Kind of funny that she's supposed to be a police officer but she's always karate chopping people. 1974. Trailer!
